The MEDRC Conflict Resolution Model

For states engaged in peace processes, transboundary environmental issues such as water, climate change and desertification may present opportunities for potential peace initiatives. The MEDRC Conflict Resolution Model is a unique institutional mechanism in the form of a multilateral research institute that utilizes the environment as an entry point to the Middle East Peace Process. With support from the German Federal Foreign Office, MEDRC's Stabilization Mechanism Project has worked to capture and communicate the potential of the MEDRC model to be transferred or replicated to other contexts where a multilateral platform could positively serve a peace process.
