Apply for a MEDRC MSC Fellowship 2021

MEDRC is pleased to announce the 2021 batch of Master’s Research Fellowship awards, to be granted to exceptional water research students in Palestine and Jordan.

This will be the 10th edition of the MSc Fellowships awards done in coordination with the Palestinian and Jordanian water authorities. The program is focused specifically on in-country capacity building at university level, helping to develop talented water practitioners in the region to address domestic issues sustainably.

To date, MEDRC has supported 265 MSc research projects in Jordan and Palestine through this program. The research topics are developed in a problem solving context, addressing an immediate need or specific problem as identified in conjunction with the water authorities of Jordan and Palestine such as for example: Industrial and municipal wastewater treatment and reuse; process modeling and optimization techniques for and monitoring of wastewater treatment plants and desalination plants; and water governance, service regulation and water use efficiency.

Starting this year, the focus of the MSc Fellowships program has broadened to include topics related to water diplomacy and initiatives in the field of water cooperation.

As part of our gender equality policy, MEDRC strives to include equal numbers of male and female researchers in all its university capacity building activities. To this aim, MEDRC strongly encourages women to apply.

Students pursuing a Master’s degree with an original research thesis of national importance can apply online:
