2nd MEDRC Alumni Forum takes place in Palestine

The 2nd Palestinian MEDRC Alumni Forum took place at Al Najah university in Palestine today, held under the patronage of H.E Eng. Mazen Ghuneim, Minister and Head of the Palestinian Water Authority.

Speaking at this morning’s opening session were MEDRC Center Director, Ciarán Ó Cuinn and Professor Maher Natsheh, President of An Najah National University with welcoming remarks made by Dr. Nidal Zatar of the event organising committee.

The Forum is an entirely researcher led event that aims to bring together MEDRC Fellows and industry experts from all sides of the water sector to discuss important, local, regional, and global water challenges in a collaborative environment, while highlighting some of the exceptional water research being conducted under the MEDRC Fellowship program in Palestine.

The elected committee organised the event under the theme ‘from research to application’ and curated discussion panels examining topics such as the Challenges and Opportunities for Commercializing University Research, Building a Culture of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Desalination in Palestine.
