19 Feb MEDRC Water Research Launch the ‘Omani Young Water Researcher Award’.
MEDRC Water Research has launched the Omani Young Water Researchers Award 2017 under the Auspices of the Public Authority for Electricity & Water (PAEW) of Oman. The award will be conferred on Omani young researchers whose research has led to exceptional improvements in water management, water treatment technologies, desalination, and/or related environmental research.
This Award is made possible by the sponsorship of Omar Zawawi Establishment L.L.C. and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Muscat, and it is endorsed by the Research Council of Oman and Oman Water Society. In addition it is supported by the Duane Morris firm and has the Times of Oman and Al Shabiba newspapers as media sponsors.
“The aim of this award is to increase interest in research carried out in Oman, particularly research which tackles specific water challenges in Oman, and to encourage Omani young researchers to excel in their research,” says Dr. Jauad El Kharraz, MEDRC Head of Research.
The award is open to Omani nationals aged between 20 and 30 years old before December 31st, 2017. Applications deadline is June 10th, 2017 (11:59 PM Muscat time).
The Award consists of a medal, a diploma and paid participation to attend the 4th Amsterdam International Water Week 2017 to be held on 30 October – 3 November 2017.
