MEDRC Technical & Research Support in Gaza – February Troubleshooting and Non-Routine Maintenance Visits
MEDRC activities in Gaza continue in February as staff undertake a series of technical consultations with desalination plant managers throughout the month.
Under the MEDRC Dedicated Troubleshooting and Non-Routine Maintenance Program (Gaza) MEDRC offers technical support to the Coastal Municipal Water Utility in the operation and maintenance of existing plants. The Program is delivered in partnership with the Palestinian Water Authority and is supported by the Qatar Development Fund.
Memoranda of Understanding will also be signed with Gaza Universities to recognize the partnership with MEDRC and to explore further cooperation.
This builds on the successful fellowship program for master’s students studying topics related to desalination, with over 50 current students and alumni supported at Al Azhar and Islamic University of Gaza with the support of the Government of the Netherlands.
Helen Twist, our Head of Development Cooperation and Riadh Dridi, our Head of Training, will meet with senior faculty members from both universities in Gaza.
