MEDRC Conducts 2 Water Finance & Strategy Training Courses in Palestine and Jordan

MEDRC’s Development Cooperation Department in cooperation with Raftelis Financial Consultants recently conducted two online training courses in Jordan and Palestine for 16 trainees, as part of its Water Finance & Strategy series with funding provided by the Federal Republic of Germany.

The first course, ‘Mobilizing Finance for Development and Private Sector Participation’ was conducted on September 12 – 13, 2022 with the second course ‘The Sustainable Utility’ conducted on November 2 – 3, 2022. Both courses are part of 5 course training series designed and developed with MEDRC’s governmental partners to address specific areas of need identified in a baseline assessment.

The 5 courses cover key topics in water finance and utility governance with the goal to increase capacity in water utility financial management and sustainability in Palestine and Jordan. This month, the training courses saw participants from the Palestinian Water Authority, Coastal Municipality Water Utility, West Bank Water Department, and local government Municipalities. From Jordan, participants from the Ministry of Water & Irrigation, Water Authority of Jordan, and Jordan Valley Authority were also present.
