The Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) supports open dialogue through the open discussion forum where shared learning can take place with questions, answers, opinions and experiences being shared among the community members.


UNESCO-IHE

UNESCO-IHE is an internationally recognised key-player in post-graduate education in water and environmental research. Its expertise is in applied research that yields outcomes relevant to developing countries and countries in transition. UNESCO-IHE is the largest international postgraduate water education facility in the world. The Institute confers fully accredited MSc degrees and promotes PhDs. Since 1957 the Institute has provided postgraduate education to more than 14,500 water professionals from over 160 countries, the vast majority of from the developing world. MEDRC has an MoU with UNESCO-IHE.

Global Water Partnership

GWP was founded in 1996 by the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) to foster integrated water resource management (IWRM). The Global Water Partnership's vision is for a water secure world. Its mission is to support the sustainable development and management of water resources at all levels.Population growth, rapid urbanization and industrialization, the expansion of agriculture and tourism, as well as climate change are all factors which put water under increasing stress. The scarcity of this vital resource for human and social development has placed water at the top of the agenda of many Mediterranean countries. Water-DROP project has been designed to address on the assumption that the main issues to be tackled for efficient water management concern technical-methodological, capacity-building, and normative aspects. MEDRC has a membership with GWP.

National Centre of Excellence in Desalination

There can be no question that the world faces growing critical water security challenges and that new climate independent water sources need to be found. The National Centre of Excellence in Desalination Australia (NCEDA) recognises these challenges and is harnessing the collaborative expertise of the world’s leading scientists and research organisations to find solutions through desalination technologies and create fresh ideas for sustainable water. MEDRC has an MoU with NCDE.

is the most formidable public institution of higher education in Catalonia, catering to the needs of greatest number of students and delivering the broadest and most comprehensive offering in higher educational courses. An initiative launched by the University of Barcelona is The Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education (AECHE) which brings together the Association of Arab Universities (AARU) and the European University Association (EUA) and their respective members. The aim of the Conference is to open a sustainable process of dialogue, mutual understanding, to exchange knowledge and to increase cooperation between Arab and European Universities. Moreover, AUG comprises educational centers which meet the needs of the Palestinian community and help its youth majoring in diverse and fruitful fields of post-graduate knowledge. The Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) is an independent academic institution supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education. It is a member of four associations: Association of Arab Universities, Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World , Community of Mediterranean Universities, and International Association of Universities. In addition, IUG works closely with numerous universities around the world.  MEDRC has an MoU with IUG.

The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies is a leading environmental studies and research program in the Middle East. Accredited through Ben-Gurion University, the Arava Institute houses academic programs, research centers, and international cooperation initiatives focusing on a range of environmental concerns and challenges. MEDRC has an MoU with this institue.
